A Peek at the IUFB 2025 Roster

Let's get ahead of ourselves and think about the 2025 IUFB roster and how the 2024 season can help inform personnel questions as the staff enters its first season in Bloomington.

We are gearing up for the 2024 college football season, as kickoff sits less than 50 days away, so for those who relish in getting ahead of themselves (like me), let’s take a look at the 2025 scholarship chart, shall we?

I began constructing the chart within the same document as the 2023 and 2024 charts, which you can access at the button below. To view the 2025 scholarship chart, see the tabs at the bottom of the document.

First, a quick update on the 2024 roster. Indiana sits at 81 scholarships assigned, by my count, and the other four will likely go to those already on the roster, such as Andrew Depaepe (the Michigan State DE transfer) or Lincoln Murff (the CB who got lots of run in the Spring Game). They may not give out those scholarships at all. By mid-July, there isn’t much left in the portal, and most attention is now turned toward maintaining 2025 commitments, building relationships with 2026 recruits, and preparing for the upcoming season. 

As for the 2025 roster, given the current number of 2025 commitments, Indiana is at 78 scholarships (82 if they give four more scholarships this offseason yet). That’s a good number to be at because it allows the staff to add in the portal after 2024, which it will need to do in some areas, and it also gives room to amass a large 2026 class, which I believe it will given that it is this staff’s first full recruiting cycle. There will also undoubtedly be outgoing transfers.
