National Signing Day Thoughts
Indiana signed 21 prospects to its 2025 recruiting class Wednesday. Let's talk about it.
I was originally going to post this as a chat, but it grew in length to where it made more sense as a traditional newsletter post.
National Signing Day was Wednesday, and all of Indiana’s committed recruits signed, with 14 anticipated to enroll early and participate in Spring Camp in March and April. Most industry rankings rank the Hoosiers’ class just inside the top-50.
Some other notes on the class:
21 recruits signed with Indiana.
13 come from the 4-hour radius Curt Cignetti has noted before in regards to recruiting the high school ranks.
8 signees are along the OL and DL, which is crucial.
Indiana also brought in 2 TEs and 2 safeties (with potential for a 3rd given his development), which offers a glimpse into how the staff perceives those positions within its system.
There are now 5 freshmen CBs on the roster.
The only other spot I could have seen the staff adding was at OT. Not adding seems to convey 1.) the staff’s confidence in its ability to add through the portal eventually or 2.) its confidence in the OTs already on the roster.
