Week 8 Recap: Michigan State
Now that the dust has settled, let's take a deeper look at Indiana's win against Michigan State.
While some folks feared that Indiana might be caught in a trap game against Michigan State following the massive road victory over No. 3 Oregon, Indiana put together one of the most efficient offensive performances of the season, scoring 35 points in just 38 plays before playing the entire fourth quarter in garbage time and winning 38-13.
As a result, the Hoosiers jumped to No. 2 in the AP Top-25 Poll, and stayed near the top in various metrics as well — No. 3 in ESPN SP+, No. 4 in ESPN FPI, No. 2 in Massey Ratings, No. 5 in Sagarin Ratings.
On top of this, Indiana remains one of the most efficient teams on both sides of the ball.
Most notably, though, using SP+ data, BSB’s win probability model expects Indiana to finish the 2025 season undefeated.
Note: Indiana now has a 66.7% win probability at Penn State, representing the least likely win left on the Hoosiers’ schedule.
