So many moving parts! I remember MSU having a good first season under their previous coach who had brought in a lot of transfers. Then the bottom fell out. If Coach Cig has players with a team oriented character then maybe IU can mesh into a competitive team. I hope so.

That sustainability is always a concern for Indiana, unfortunately, and you're right to be concerned about things beyond 2024 (especially since we haven't even seen this team play yet). But there are signs of optimism, not just in who they're bringing in, but in how Cignetti is approaching a changing landscape in college football. I don't anticipate this amount of turnover at IU after next offseason (they have ~24 guys timing out after 2024), once the HS recruits age into roles. That back-end building is what could keep this thing from collapsing (and lead to that team-oriented idea you mentioned). Unfortunately, he's playing cleanup for a little bit.
