The bar chart of the “post Omar Cooper % change” didn’t really work for me. I don’t think I had to know how many more targets and receptions Tee Higgins had. To know that targets and receptions will likely increase, while YAC/reception will likely decrease is enough.
Sometimes the data obscures the point you wish to make from the data?
Generally, I’m a huge fan of what you’re able to learn from your proprietary data set.
As often as I’ve listened to you on CrimsonCast, I’ve not appropriately perceived the extent to which you use data science to make your insights.
Appreciate it, Brendan! The thought you noted is absolutely something I’m continuing to work out with my data storytelling. The in-season stuff is VERY heavy on the data and visualizations. Think you’ll appreciate that.
I’m extremely interested in seeing how Omar is utilized this season.
1. I believe his blocking was superior and his yac yardage and running skill on jet sweeps indicate a lot of untapped potential. I won’t be stunned to see more flexibility in where he lines up. Maybe in the slot to get the big three out there together. It also seems Mendoza has perhaps a better arm for the deep throws than Rourke, opening the possibility of more selective deep throws. Omar reminds me more of former Hoosier stud Duane Gunn than anyone since

That skill should be better appreciated.
